Haddock Ice Cream with a Doggie Cookie

We started to make Haddock Ice Cream when Marjorie noticed how much the dogs loved watching her when she made home-made ice cream, and how much the dogs loved being in the kitchen when there was smelly fish around.  "Why not combine the two?" she asked, and Haddock Ice Cream made its smelly appearance.

We were invited to sell the Haddock Ice Cream at the Wag and Bone Show at Windsor Race Course.  The August day started out rather cool (especially because we had to leave the farm in Worcestershire at 5 AM) and we were worried that dogs wouldn't want to try the ice cream unless it was hot.  We set up our small tent/booth, and waited for it to warm up.

It got hot, and humid.  And we had the wonderful treat of watching owners buy their dog ice cream, and then feed them the cone right on the lawn in front of us.

The occasional human came by the stand (we had a shorter line than the ice cream van) and bought a cone for themselves.  I can't imagine going up to an ice cream vendor and buying a cone without asking what flavour it was --- particularly if it had a light yellow colour to it.
