Love Apple Cake

1 can   condensed tomato soup
1 tsp   baking soda
2   eggs
1/2 tsp   calcium
1/4 cup   brown sugar
2 cups   whole wheat flour
1 tsp   ground cinnamon
1/2 tbs   ground cloves
1   small bottle or can of maraschino cherries

Heat oven to 325F/160c (140C for fan assisted ovens)/gas mark 3.
In a mixing bowl, stir baking soda into the soup. Lightly beat eggs and add to the soup mix. Then combine the rest of the ingredients and mix thoroughly.
Pour into a 6" heart-shaped cake tin or a 9 x 5 x 3 inch loaf pan. Bake for 55-75 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean when inserted in the centre.
Cool for 5 minutes in the pan; then remove and place on wire rack to cool completely. If you want to make it really special for Valentine, spread a little strawberry or raspberry or black cherry conserve on the top.
